fonix said 9/5 at 12:05am I didn't even realize I needed this, given that I mostly use iMovie to put together video projects. But iMovie in its current form has dropped the ability to add chapters, and that is a staggering omission, imho. This would appear to be able to do that, and the intuitive interface and advanced features are a nice plus. I'm looking forward to using this against iMovie. |
MacUpdate-User said 9/5 at 10:02am I have been testing this, and it seems okay. It is a little clunky. The multiple video tracks is good - HOWEVER - there is no way to DISSOLVE between tracks, ONLY CUT! Now if you have two clips on the SAME TRACK, then you can dissolve, but not if they are on separate tracks. That is very annoying. It has very limited TEXT and TITLING features. Do not expect fancy title effects, unless you spend A LOT OF TIME making your own. Exporting takes A LOT OF TIME, then you have to re-import into iMovie if you want to make a iDVD, etc. Very limited features and effects. It is a very basic editor. All it has going for it is BASIC multiple video tracks. But expect everything else to be limited and clunky. |
Arru said 9/5 at 7:21am This software is awesome! For anyone dissatisfied with the direction iMovie 8 took, just forget it and buy this one instead! It's got real-time compositing for $29 for heaven's sake! And all parameters can be animated, you even get trace outlines for animation. I'm blown away... Granted, the interface has got just a little lack of polish (och svenska översättningen är inget vidare). But for this price I'm totally impressed! |
er16004 said 9/5 at 8:58am After looking at the developer's site and seeing how often he updates this product (updates come in about every 2-3 months), I think it's safe to say this will stay ahead of the iMovie updates, since I'm still waiting for them to add in needed/missing features. |
MacUpdate-User said 9/5 at 10:38pm Hello, I have been testing this all day. It's clunky, but okay. How do I make Dissolve Transitions across TWO TRACKS in Norrkross Movie? I have filmed 3 video tracks simultaneously of a live music event. I want to edit them together like a real live concert movie DVD with MULTIPLE SYNCHRONIZED ANGLES. It is easy to make CUTS between the tracks by turning the video tracks on/off, but how do I make DISSOLVE Transitions between the tracks? Thanks! |
gregbd said 9/5 at 9:15am This is what I love about MacUpdate, I learn about applications I never knew existed or thought I needed. I watch Apple website for new applications but MacUpdate consistently offers more unique apps and offers a deal to boot. The creativity of the shareware community is alive and well thanks to MacUpdate. This Norkross Movie editing looks like another must have app that is easy to use, powerful, and might replace my use of iMovie. Very impressive set of features and tools. Thanks to Norkross and MacUpdate, look out iMovie your on your way out. |
mrkowalski said 9/5 at 1:08am it sure would be nice if we could have some heads-up a day or two in advance of a promo, so we can go over the demo more thoroughly. Work days often get in the way, and I have missed some deals. |
ozron said 9/5 at 11:12pm I agree with @ mrkowalski. It would be very helpful if MacUpdate provided more advance notice of apps like this. Maybe 2-3 days in advance like macZOT has been doing on occasion to give extra time to evaluate. I'm sure it would help improve sales for the dev and give us more time - so a win / win for everyone. |

There are more export options than iMovie. Kind of a Final Cut Express Express.
