Q: Serial Number Retrieval - I never received an email with my serial numbers and didn't print the web-based receipt.
A: You are currently not logged in. First, you need to go log in. Then return to this FAQ page and reload. Further instructions will be available.

Q: Neo Tango serial invalid - I tried registering Neo Tango but it said my serial number is invalid.
A: It turns out all of the serial block provided to MacUpdate contained invalid codes. We're getting new ones and will send them out as soon as we can.

Q: Leap serial # - I bought the bundle. Where is the Leap serial?
A: The serial number will be added to your ONLINE receipt within 12-hours or less after purchase. View #1 in the faq to see how to retrieve your receipts.

Q: WhatSize serial # - The WhatSize serial doesn't work for me.
A: You have to enter your full name as you entered it on your purchase receipt. The name needs to match up with the exact serial number given to you. The serial numbers are all valid if you match it correctly.

Q: Why have unlocks? - "I'm pro-consumer, so I want to fight against the locks. Why have them?"
A: The locking of top tiers apps is ultimately there to help everyone involved.

It is not shady or sneaky. Its working are completely transparent. The people who participate in the community (1) help give awareness and funds to developers who take a percentage of the sales, (2) fund MacUpdate's website growth, which mainly provides free promotional services to Mac developers and users, and (3) reward themselves because they get bigger and better apps added to the current bundle and future bundles.

Q: Unlock Milestones - When do BannerZest and Parallels get unlocked?
A: The unlock milestone numbers will be revealed for BannerZest after Sound Studio's milestone is reached. Parallels' will follow the unlocking of BannerZest. Read the front page of MUPromo to understand how the unlocking works. The "10,000" and "15,000" numbers value found in early adopters' receipts was a bug from a previous bundle. Those are not the true unlock goals.

Q: BannerZest ad - When I right click on BannerZest stuff, I see an ad.
A: BannerZest is such a new app, that it _just_ got released. They just added the ability to remove the 'Made by Bannerzest...' item in the menu in their newest update: 1.0.3. Go to the Application's Preferences, uncheck the option, and your banner will then show the standard Adobe Flash player menu.

Q: Transaction error - My card/paypal was charged, but I didn't land on a receipt page.
A: This means that your purchase was most likely completed, but an error occurred in one of the apps serial number generation. Simply follow the steps in FAQ #1 above to view your receipt and get your serials. If a serial number is missing, we'll add it back to your account at the end of the day when we do a clean-up.

Q: Receipts Not There - I thought I purchased but receipts aren't there.
A: If the receipt isn't available, then that means the purchase didn't go through. Go purchase again.

Q: Serial Numbers Don't Work - When I enter the serial numbers after purchasing, they aren't working.
A: First, read your receipt carefully; especially the text around your serial number or a "Special Instructions" section. Many of the titles have a different NAME than your personal name. They might be in the format like "MacUpdate Bundle ####". To view the latest version of your receipt, follow the steps in the first Q&A above. Also, when entering your name and serial, try both copy/pasting and manually entering the codes into your app's registration form. If worst comes to worst, please email the developer and include a screenshot of you entering the name and serial number into the app.

Q: Double Charged - I was double charged. What do I do?
A: Email billing (-at-) macupdate.com with the following information: Your login email address, first & last name, and receipt number if you have it. We'll cancel or reverse your duplicate charge.

Q: Refund my purchase - Can you refund my promo purchase?
A: The time limited discounts here are substantial so there are no refunds available. Please be sure to download and try the software out before you make the purchase. And be sure you see the marked price that you are purchasing at.

Q: Mistyped my email. Need Serials - I mistyped my email when purchasing and the serials never got to me. Now what?
A: Read the Q&A #1 to make sure your serials are not on your receipt. You can edit your profile to correct your MacUpdate Membership email address. Then you will need to manually email the developer and include the receipt order ID, your full name, old email that was mistyped and the new one they should send it to. Then they should be able to email you your serial number to the proper address. It may take a few days as this is manually intensive.

Part 2: Let's clear up some other questions that have been raised - First let me say, We are all part of the MAC family now and it is a great family. It is a very giving family. Most people are just trying to be helpful when answering your questions, not critical so don't be critical to back to them. Everyone has a right to their opinions about the products and deal, but let's keep it non-confrontational when conversing with others.

UNLOCK MILESTONES:
The early numbers given in the receipts were wrong. It was a bug and it was listing the numbers from a previous bundle. The actual milestones for BannerZest and Parallels are not known currently and will be revealed only after the previous locked app is opened. So once Sound Studio is unlocked the milestone to reach BannerZest will be revealed and once BannerZest is unlocked the Parallels milestone will be revealed.

GIFTING LICENSES:
I don't believe MacUpdate provides a way to gift licenses during purchase (although that would be nice), but you can certainly give the lucky person your license info for the app and they will be up and running. You could also try to contact the dev and they may be willing to change the license info to the person's name you want to gift it to. Parallels said as long as it has not be registered by the person who bought it, you can register the serial in your name. You may need the help of a sales rep, but at minimum simply contact Parallels for assistance if you have any problems trying to register it.

MACUPDATE $9 MEMBERSHIP:
According to MacUpdates words on the Buy page it says "Extend/upgrade my membership: $9.00 (retail $20)" & "Add/Extend a 12-month Member account for only $9 (regularly $20.)" so yes it seems to indicate that your current membership will be extended for one year. That would be the normal thing to do when you already have a membership and you purchase another year membership, similar to a magazine subscription. IS THIS A GOOD DEAL? WILL THEY GET UNLOCKED?
We have never had a problem unlocking all the apps in previous bundles on this site or any others. Just keep telling others about it and they will come and they will buy like you and I. It is a good deal even without the 3 locked bundles. Currently you are getting 7 great apps for $64.99 instead of $265.78. That's a great sale at 75.5% off or a savings of $200.79. The deal will get better and better as each app is unlocked and there is always the possibility that they may throw in other apps later. They do say 'Stay Tuned' which also says 'see what else develops during this 2-week period'. Don't Panic that it seems we are not receiving enough sales per day to meet the final unlock (milestone is unknown). The word is still getting out and the sales grow exponentially. As locked apps are unlocked sales will increase, and if MUPromo sweetens the deal sales will definitely increase. Keep spreading the news and encourage them to jump on the current great deal and then it will only get better.

APP REVIEWS:
There have been several posts giving reviews about the various apps and I am sure if you search the Internet you will find even more. Also AngelaMaria has offered to review them on her blog site, so you might want to check that out as well - http://scripts.indisguise.org. Of course the best way to review it is to download the demos and try them out for yourself.

MACWORLD PRINT AD:
Ads are meant to draw you in and get you interested in something. Prints Ads don't tell the complete story ever. MacUpdate may have been able to do a better job on the print Ad (haven't seen it myself), but the point is to make you aware of what is happening and bring you to the site. It did it's job and pointed you to the site, which then gives you all the details you need to make an informed decision. Let's be real it's still a great deal even without the 3 unlocked apps (75% savings for 7 apps), and if you don't like the deal you simply move along. Why waste more of your precious time complaining about it, since you apparently considered it a waste of your time to simply visit the website to find out more info. A lot of Ads try to draw you into their store, and I have been disappointed with them before and that is a major waste of my time and gas (money). But I won't waste more time complaining to someone as the Ad worked, and I want to use my remaining time wisely. If you are disappointed we understand, but ranting about it isn't doing anyone any good. Hey there are other deals out there. MENUCALENDARCLOCK:
If you are unable to open it, go to ObjectPark's page you'll notice they have separate downloads for Tiger, Panther, Leopard and even Jaguar. Version 2 is for 10.3.9 to 10.4.11 - check to see if you have the right version for your OS. ObjectPark has said that they will NOT swap the iCal version for the Entourage version.

LEAP LICENSES:
Your leap license is NOT emailed to you. You will find it within your online receipt on the MUPromo page. The link to your receipt is at the very bottom right hand side of the page. Don't forget that it says that the Leap license may take up to 12 hours before it shows up.

BANNERZEST:
Once again you are getting the Standard version, not the Pro version. It was noted that the BannerZest Flash files contain an Ad for Bannerzest/Aquafadas when you right mouse click on the Flash within the webpage. Check out the one Joel made for MacUpdate - http://www.mupromo.com/bz/. If this bothers you, Aqafadas has said that they will give you the option to remove this in an update release. Once post said this would only happen in the Pro version and another along with the MacUpdate FAQ seems to indicate it will happen regardless. It was also noted that Adobe Flash files do the same thing, and typically most people don't right mouse click on Flash files as you can't do anything with them that way any way. It has also been noted that if you create a Flash and then want to go back and change a pic or two that you can not easily do that. Please check the Aquafadas forum for details or other support. Let's remember this is version 1.x (a new app) and it will get better as the dev continues to develop it and it is already a pretty awesome app.

WHY CALL IT PARALLELS BUNDLE IT'S LOCKED? WILL THE PRICE INCREASE AFTER EACH ONE IS UNLOCKED?
It is named the Parallels bundle because that is the ultimate app in this bundle. I have not seen a bundle that has not opened all the apps and this one will do the same.

The price can not increase after each app is unlocked as they have advertised it as pay 64.99 for all 10 apps, so that would be mis-advertising and is against the law. The only time I have seen them increase the price is when they added more apps and that came with a time extension and they have made it clear there will be no time extensions. It does not mean that they can't throw in more apps before the 2 weeks to sweeten the deal or add some special deal to it. Who knows what they have planned.
