Kinglybird said today at 8:57am At a quick tryout the program works great, really. One of the best features is the Live Preview (minni you missed this one) as you can preview "live" many image adjustments like brightness, contrast etc...just keep the Live Preview window open. Another feature that is worth mention is watermarking photos, complete with background color and logo watermark. It goes side to side with other apps that do just watermark and here its a (welcome) bonus. One thing that could be revised is the "drop your image directory", some would prefer to drop or select the actual images instead of folders etc. Overall its a batch image editing / watermarking / renaming program that works ultra fast. Price, with 45% discount, is ok. Thumbs up. |
breilly said today at 12:40am It's a nice deal. With so many people making use of other people's photos online, easy watermarking is a good thing to have. |
magicmikey said today at 10:05am I tried this out and am pretty impressed so far. It hung one time but otherwise it did a great job of taking several folders of full-size processed images and reducing them to web size. The auto-rotate function is what I really like. I've created actions in Photoshop to save my images for web but I don't have to use two different actions. One for vertical images and one for horizontal images. (I'm sure someone can script Photoshop to resize both simultaneously but I haven't researched it yet.) It seems like a pretty good little application. |
minni said today at 3:12am At first glance this program doesn't seem to be clever enough or "simple" enough for me. I wanted to test it with just one photo I happened to have on my desktop, which I dropped into WaterThumber, but it rejected it saying I need to "drop an image directory". So I created a folder, put my photo in it and only then did it accept the picture. Furthermore, while there are many image processing options, it seems you have to do all the adjustmes "in the dark" - Show Preview button shows you the result but doesn't let you see the work in process. No thanks for me. I have better stuff on my computer that does the same for me free. |
breilly said today at 12:54am I think the icons in the application might be more informative if they were not so similar -- Input, Processing and Thumbnails. Also, the Process pane needs some kind of highlight on the Process Images button which doesn't really look like a button. |
xnedwriter said today at 8:53am There are lots of tools out there that do these tasks, as others have mentioned. I used Webify and GraphicConverter and ImageWell the most personally, but if you don't have a program like this then this basic tool will suffice. |
drusixtynine said today at 7:20am I personally prefer MuchoThumbs Pro, it does almost all of that but it also creates the web pages in a snap. Check it out at http://muchosoft.com |

I've been using Downsize which worked great for me and also Webify.
Both have some features that are useful. This one seems to have them too. What I like about WaterThumber is the batch rename option, auto-rotate option and the effects settings. What could be changed is the add shadow option, a possibility to add single images (not in the folder), a possibility to change the corner radius and to choose the background color. I like that it preserves the settings but I'd like to have a chance to save my settings in case I'd 2 or 3 sets.
But it seems to be quite nice app, working really fast.
